HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO HIRE A VEHICLE?

You must be over 25 years old, under 70 years old and have been driving for a minimum of 2 years.


WHAT DO I NEED TO HIRE A VEHICLE?

At the time of hiring we will need all of the following:

  • A full and valid UK driving licence
    This will be either a Photo Licence (plastic card type) or an Old Style Paper Licence
  • A driving licence check code
    This can be obtained from the “view my licence government website”. A summary becomes available to download and print after you have made a licence check code. If you can print this summary it will speed up the hiring process when you collect your vehicle. Without this check code we will need to contact the DVLA to confirm your details at a cost of £5 +VAT
  • Two forms of identification dated within the last six weeks
    with your name and residential address (gas / electricity bills, bank or building society statements etc), a passport is not acceptable.
  • A credit or Debit card
    If the card is not owned by the driver please contact our staff


CAN I ADD ADDITIONAL DRIVERS TO THE HIRE?

There is a charge of £15 +VAT for each additional driver added to the hire. Each additional driver will need to show the full range of identification required from the primary driver.


DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

A £200 pound deposit is required for all vehicles.


ARE THE VEHICLES INSURED?

All vehicles have full and comprehensive insurance. In the event of an accident there is a £600 +VAT excess that is the responsibility of the hirer.


WHAT HAPPENS IF I INCUR ANY CHARGES?

You are responsible in full for any traffic infringements and are obliged to inform us of any fines or parking tickets etc that are issued whilst you are using the vehicle. We can accept no responsibility for any traffic fine or payments incurred during the hire period. Any fines, parking tickets or avoidance of congestion charges etc. that are notified to ourselves from the relevant authorities after the hire period has ended, and occurred during the hire period, are still the full responsibility of the hirer.


WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE RETURNING THE VEHICLE?

The required return date and time will be agreed at the beginning of the hire period. It is important that we are notified as soon as possible of any changes to this. If you need the vehicle for longer or expect to return the vehicle late please contact our staff so that additional insurance can be arranged.
